Official Rules
1. Any size self propelled combine is
allowed.
2. A grain platform is required on the
combine and to be securely attached to the combine. Loss of the header will be a
disqualification. No corn heads are allowed.
3. The combine must be a 2 wheel drive.
Any 4 wheel drive combines must have the rear drive wheels disconnected from any
power source. No hydraulic lines can be connected to the power source.
4. The grain table must have the reel and
end supports for the reel removed.
5. The grain table must have braces welded
to hold the table to a height between 18 and 24 inches from the ground. The
hydraulic lift cylinders cannot be able to lift or lower the header.
6. All glasses must be removed from the
cab and the doors and windows welded or chained shut.
7. Combines without a cab must have a roll
cage and some metal bracing to protect the driver.
8. There should be several braces across
the front and sides of the cab to protect the driver are allowed.
9. Additional bracing to protect the
driver is allowed.
10. The fuel tank must be located in the
grain tank and securely attached.
11. Seat belts and helmets are required.
The helmets must have a chin strap fastened during the competition. Seat belts
must be fastened during competition.
12. No sharp protrusions. This is any
bracing or other metal points that might be safe.
13. All combines must have a working
ignition switch located within the drivers reach.
14. Rubbers tires only are allowed. No
chains or other metal is allowed on the wheels. No liquid is allowed in the
tires.
15. Protective bracing is allowed around
the variable belt drives.
16. All drivers must be 18 years old or
older.
17. No alcohol is allowed in the pit area
or on the fairgrounds! Any driver or pit crew member who is in possession
of alcohol or has consumed alcohol prior to arrival to the pits will be grounds
for disqualification of the combine for the entire event. The judges’ decision
is final.
18. No hits are allowed to the front part
of the combine anywhere near the driver. Any violation will be grounds for
disqualification.
19. A driver must attempt to stop contact
if a combine is being lifted and is in danger of turning over. Any intentional
rollovers will be grounds for disqualification at the judges’ decision. If a
combine turns over the event will be halted and the combine will be up righted
and be allowed to continue if he is able.
20. No hits are allowed when a combine is
out of bounds.
21. Any combine that goes completely
outside of the competition track will be disqualified.
22. All machines must halt immediately
upon signal from the judges.
23. The reasons for halting competition
will be in case of fire, turnovers, injuries, or unsafe conditions on the track.
24. Everyone is encouraged to paint and
decorate combines. Upon entering the arena each contestant will circle the
arena to parade their machine during introductions.
25. All drivers must remain in their
machine with their seatbelts on until the heat is over.
26. Each combine must pass a tech
inspection 2 hours prior to the show. There will be a drivers meeting 30 minutes
before the show and everyone is required to be there.
27. The judges have the authority to stop
and disqualify any machine for unsafe operation.
There will be
no entry fee,
but everyone will pay to enter the fairgrounds.
Any decisions are
the judges’ responsibility and the decision is final.
Drivers and pit crew members are responsible for their own
safety. The Fair Association is not responsible for the accidents or injury.
Everyone understands that they are participating at their own risk.
