FLORAL DEPARTMENT & DOMESTIC HORITCULTURE

NWTN Master Gardeners, Superintendents

 

 

Rules & Regulations:

1.  Exhibitor must be a resident of Obion County or a member of FCE Club.

2.  Entry Dates & Times:    Potted & Artificial Flowers - Saturday, August 11, 2007 - 9 a.m. til 4 p.m.

                                                Cut flowers & Bouquets - Thursday, August  16, 2007  - 9 a.m. til Noon.

                All Flower entries will be taken in the Domestic Arts building on the left of the main brick                 gates on Church Street.

3.  No commercially grown flowers or commercial arrangements of any kind will be permitted in      competition.  All exhibitors must arrange their own entries.

4.  No exhibitor may have more than one entry in any one lot.

5.  All specimens must be grown by the exhibitor and must bear the name of the plant or flower.

6.  All potted plants must have been in the possession of the exhibitor and in  pots for at least three months.

7.  Containers for single specimens will be furnished.  All containers and accessories will be entered at the owner’s risk.

8.  Exhibitors may use accessories ONLY in Specified Lots.

9.  AFTER A POTTED PLANT, DIRED OR ARTIFICIAL ARRANGEMENT HAS WON FIRST PLACE IT MAY NOT BE ENTERED AGAIN FOR TWO YEARS.

10. ITEMS NOT LISTED IN THE CATALOG WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

11. Entries will not be released until 9 a.m. on the Monday following the fair.

                      All Single Specimen Cut Flowers - 1st $ 4.00; 2nd $ 3.00; 3rd $ 2.00

Best of Show Rosettes + $ 10.00 Awarded for Potted Plants, Single Specimen, Live Arrangement, Silk or Dried Arrangement, Single Rose, & Rose Arrangement

CLASS X - ARRANGEMENTS SPECIAL DESIGN (this group of plants do not have to be grown by the person entering)

Recapture a moment of days gone by.  Create an arrangement that you would have been proud to present to your grandmother.  Containers found in the attic, garage or shed; can be baskets, paint pails or wooden garden trays, etc.  Fill with August greenery or flowers from the road side, pea vines or other foliage , etc.  Lots are listed below.
